First comment about "Our Man in Havana"

"Our Man in Havana" is a book written by Grahan Greene. It was published for the first time in 1958 in Great Britain by William Heinemann. The story of the book takes place in Cuba before the Comunist Revolution that occured in 1959. These days, there was an strong tension between  the two most potent countries in the world: United States of America -USA- and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republiccs -USSR-. This tough tension had its origin in differents points of view about the ideal society. In contrast with USA who had a capitalist system based in competitiveness and private propiety, the USSR had a comunist sysmem in which the goverment is the owner of the means of .production: labor, land and capital. This specific period of history is called "The Cold War".

The book "Our Man in Havana" is a satire about the British espionage in Cuba during the Cold War. The principal characters are Mr Wormold a British seller of vacuum cleaners who lived in Havana, his daugther Millie, his German friend Ms Hasselbacher and Hawthorne the British spy who recruited Mr Wormold to do espionage in Cuba.
